Explore our safari camps
In Botswana’s Okavango Delta, Wilderness offers a collection of safari camps that each reveal a different facet of this remarkable ecosystem. From predator-rich Chief’s Island to tranquil waterways explored by mokoro (dugout canoe), every camp provides an exclusive, authentic experience, while helping to support the long-term conservation of this World Heritage treasure.
Accommodation in the Delta
Accommodation in the Delta
Wilderness camps in the Okavango Delta are designed to reflect their unique settings, whether a floodplain, island, or lagoon. From intimate canvas suites at Jacana and Little Vumbura to the striking architecture of Jao and Tubu Tree, each camp blends natural materials, luxury, and sustainability, ensuring comfort while preserving this remarkable safari destination.

How we build our camps

Design
Our Okavango Delta safari camps are designed to place you in the heart of the wild. Unfenced, each camp reflects its unique setting, combining natural materials, elevated structures, and sustainable materials that are friendly on the environment. The result is authentic spaces that blend luxury with a light footprint, helping protect the ecosystem while getting you close to its wildlife.

Philosophy
Wilderness camps are built with care, using sustainable materials and partnering with local artisans and suppliers. Elevated boardwalks protect fragile ground and allow wildlife to move freely. Plus, our camps also source from neighbouring farmers and local producers, supporting surrounding communities while creating spaces rooted in the Delta.

Sustainability
Sustainability shapes every detail of our safari camps. They run on solar power, use natural ventilation, and treat wastewater responsibly. Small in scale and unfenced, they minimise impact while keeping habitats intact. Many are boat- or air-access only, preserving fragile ecosystems. This light footprint ensures the Delta thrives for future generations.

Guest experience
Watch elephants and other herds from your deck, glide silently by mokoro at dawn, or stargaze to a chorus of night sounds. Guided walks, boat trips, and game drives reveal hidden corners of the Okavango Delta, while Star Beds, plunge pools, and boma evenings ensure that every safari with Wilderness is uniquely different.
