Are drinks and activities included in an all-inclusive safari in South Africa?

If you book an all-inclusive safari lodge in South Africa or at any of our safari camps in the rest of Africa then typically house drinks are included including soft drinks, water, local beers, house wines, and non-premium spirits. The exceptions are usually premium imported spirits and Champagne. Twice-daily game activities are also normally included as standard with some optional experiences, such as hot air balloon flights, operated independently and priced separately. Your Travel Designer will flag these at the itinerary stage so there are no surprises on arrival. This is different at city hotels in places like Cape Town or Johannesburg where typically only breakfast is included in your rate.

Are flights part of the all-inclusive package?

As standard, none of our all-inclusive safari itineraries includes prices for international flights to or from any African destination, including South Africa.

What additional costs should I consider when planning an all-inclusive safari?

In addition to international flights to and from South Africa, you’ll also need to budget for travel insurance, visa or electronic travel authorisation (ETA) fees (where applicable), gratuities for guides and camp staff, and any personal medication or vaccinations recommended by your healthcare provider before departure. If photography is a priority, you might choose to hire specialist camera equipment or purchase additional memory cards and portable hard drives to store your images.

Although most lodges in South Africa offer complimentary Wi-Fi, you may also want to allow for international roaming charges or the cost of a local SIM card/e-sim. Finally, if you're extending your holiday with time in our other safari destinations or a city stay in Cape Town then additional meals, activities and transfers may need to be considered.
