Frequently asked questions

Are drinks and activities included in an all-inclusive safari in Tanzania?

House drinks are included on your Tanzania safari including soft drinks, water, local beers, house wines, and non-premium spirits. The exceptions are premium imported spirits and Champagne, the bill for which is settled directly in camp. Twice-daily game activities are included as standard, as well as walking safaris, with all of our Usawa camps set up in designated walking areas to allow for the unique opportunity of exploring the Serengeti on foot from all of our locations. Some optional experiences, such as hot-air ballooning, are operated independently and priced separately. Your Travel Designer will flag these at the itinerary stage so there are no surprises on arrival.

Are flights part of the all-inclusive package?

As standard, none of our Tanzania all-inclusive safari itineraries includes prices for international flights to or from any African destination. That said, Wilderness Usawa Serengeti is typically reached by transfer in light aircraft from Arusha or Nairobi and these costs will be included as part of your Tanzania safari package.

What additional costs should I consider when planning an all-inclusive safari?

In addition to international flights to and from Tanzania for your safari, you’ll also need to budget for travel insurance, visa or electronic travel authorisation (ETA) fees (where applicable), gratuities for guides and camp staff, and any personal medication or vaccinations recommended by your healthcare provider before departure. If photography is a priority, you might choose to hire specialist camera equipment or purchase additional memory cards and portable hard drives to store your images.

Although Wilderness Usawa Serengeti offers complimentary Wi-Fi, you may also want to allow for international roaming charges or the cost of a local SIM card/e-sim. Finally, if you're extending your holiday with time in other safari destinations or a city such as Arusha, then additional meals, activities and transfers may need to be considered.
