Exploring the Mababe Depression offers a chance to safari in one of the world's last untouched wild areas. Timing of game drives are dictated by the wildlife here with herds of zebra, elephant and buffalo often seen on the plains, as well predators following in their wake, often hunting in broad daylight.

You might also choose to join a guided nature walk to discover the smaller wonders often missed from a vehicle, or settle into the sunken hide for an afternoon seeing what wildlife might arrive. Wilderness King's Pool consistently delivers the best dry season game viewing in far northern Botswana. Situated on the border with Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, Wilderness King's Pool is in an area vital to the seasonal movements of elephant herds and to the survival of rare roan and sable antelope. Looking down over the Linyanti River and up from the safety of sunken hides gives guests unexpected angles from which to witness great wildlife moments.

Sitting north of the Okavango, the land based safaris of the Linyanti are on a par with its more famous neighbour. Wilderness Magashi is situated in the productive and phenomenally diverse north-eastern corner of Akagera National Park, overlooking scenic Lake Rwanyakazinga. Akagera comprises some of the most scenic savannah in East Africa – open plains, woodlands, lakes, swamp and grassy low mountains – and is home to one of Africa’s highest hippo densities, large crocodiles, as well as the rare sitatunga and boasting an impressive 520 species of birds. Teeming with plains game, Akagera now also boasts a healthy population of lion which were introduced by African Parks in 2015 after a 20-year absence; black rhino were reintroduced in 2017, and white rhino in 2021. Wilderness Magashi – the only exclusive-use area in Akagera – also harbours a good density of leopard.

Every day at Akagera National Park offers the chance to explore some of East Africa's most breathtaking landscapes, from expansive savannah and lush woodland to tranquil lakes and grassy rolling hills. Golden monkey trekking in the Park’s forests is another excursion which showcases the resident primates of Rwanda's forests.

Beyond these highlights, you can also embark on guided nature and birding walks, visit a community beehive project, participate in tree planting at the lodge nursery, guided by an agronomist, or visit the nursery school at Bisate Village, contributing to local education initiatives.

The name Qorokwe means 'the place where the buffalo broke through the bush into the water' and is evocative of the high-density game area in which the camp is situated. Game drives in Hwange National Park showcase the rich diversity of Zimbabwe’s largest wildlife reserve, from open savannahs and mopane woodlands to seasonal pans and riverine corridors.

Witness the breathtaking majesty of Victoria Falls, a World Heritage Site straddling the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia.

As you stand before the most expansive curtain of water on Earth, experience the breathtaking "Smoke that Thunders," locally known as "Mosi-oa-Tunya."

From February to May each year, the Victoria Falls are in full flood and 500 million liters of water tumble over the edge into a series of gorges each minute! After a briefing and explanation of the Falls, your guide accompanies you along the 1.7-kilometers scenic pathways of the rainforest, stopping at numerous viewpoints to gaze at the Falls.

This privately guided tour lasts approximately 1.5 - 2 hours.

At Wilderness camps in the Okavango Delta, twice-daily game drives form the heart of the safari experience. Early mornings see you heading out in open 4x4 vehicles, when the light is golden and predators are often still on the move. Wilderness Mombo, on Mombo Island just off the northern tip of Chief’s Island, is built under large shady trees and overlooks a wonderful floodplain teeming with wildlife.
