Day 1
Maun Airport
Maun Airport to Wilderness Chitabe
Flight • 00:15h
On arrival at Maun Airport and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and assisted by a Wilderness representative to your light aircraft for your onward circuit air transfer to Wilderness Chitabe.

Chitabe’s location places it at the heart of a complex and beautiful mosaic of habitats, and this diversity results in Chitabe being one of the most storied of all Botswana’s areas. Experienced, passionate guides are inspired by the intricate and dynamic landscapes to deliver wildlife experiences few other locations can match. Eight elevated, meru-style guest tents provide the perfect human habitat, while a stroll along the elevated walkways connecting them to the main area is a safari experience in itself. Day and night drives, and guided walks, showcase the varied wildlife and landscapes of the Okavango. Insider’s Tip: Learn more about the African wild dog packs of the area; if you’re lucky you’ll see some of these endangered carnivores.

In the Chitabe concession morning and afternoon game drives traverse a mosaic of grasslands, acacia woodland, and seasonal floodplains, with the area particularly renowned for its high predator densities. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and wild dogs are frequently encountered here, alongside large herds of elephant, buffalo, and plains game. As daylight fades, night drives bring the chance to spot more secretive species. You may also choose to swap your game drive for a guided walk which adds a slower rhythm to your safari, uncovering details often overlooked from a vehicle, while private bush lunches on the Gomoti floodplains offer a unique experience or a chance to celebrate a special occassion. For keen photographers, specialist guiding ensures you have the time, positioning, and knowledge to capture the perfect shot. And for a perspective few ever experience, optional-extra scenic helicopter flights reveal the scale and beauty of the Delta from above.
Day 3
Wilderness Chitabe to Wilderness Qorokwe
Flight • 00:15h
You will take a light aircraft transfer from Wilderness Chitabe to Wilderness Qorokwe.

The name Qorokwe means 'the place where the buffalo broke through the bush into the water' and is evocative of the high-density game area in which the camp is situated. The diverse habitats of the south-eastern Okavango support a wealth of wildlife, earning the area’s well-deserved reputation as a top Botswana safari destination. Wilderness Qorokwe has nine tented suites, one of which is a spacious family unit with a private plunge pool. En-suite facilities feature an indoor shower with an inward opening door giving the illusion of an outdoor shower experience. Built on elevated wooden platforms, the main area includes a dining room, lounge, library, bar and an infinity pool overlooking the grassy plains. Highlights of Qorokwe’s dining experiences include festive boma evenings and scrumptious pizzas from the camp’s bespoke oven. Insider's Tip: Qorokwe is a great year-round land-and-water safari destination, consistently alive with abundant wildlife.

At Wilderness camps in the Okavango Delta, twice-daily game drives form the heart of the safari experience. Early mornings see you heading out in open 4x4 vehicles, when the light is golden and predators are often still on the move. Guides and trackers use their expertise to follow the clues of the bush including fresh tracks in the sand and distant alarm calls to lead you to wildlife sightings. After a stop for coffee and snacks in a scenic spot, you return to camp for a relaxed breakfast or brunch. Later, as the heat eases, afternoon drives bring the chance to see more but beyond the vehicle, there are also various other ways to discover the Delta. Depending on water levels, you might glide silently along reed-lined channels by mokoro, head out by boat in search of hippo and waterbirds, or even cast a line for catch-and-release fishing. Guided walks reveal the smaller wonders of the wilderness while optional extra scenic helicopter flights offer a bird’s-eye view of the landscape. Together, these experiences ensure your time in the Okavango is as diverse as the landscape itself.

Wilderness King's Pool consistently delivers the best dry season game viewing in far northern Botswana. Situated on the border with Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, Wilderness King's Pool is in an area vital to the seasonal movements of elephant herds and to the survival of rare roan and sable antelope. Looking down over the Linyanti River and up from the safety of sunken hides gives guests unexpected angles from which to witness great wildlife moments. Seven well-appointed twins and one family room, all made of canvas, wood and, thatch, soak up the views of the lagoon. The main area, deck, and bar offer uninterrupted views with closer proximity to the water, while parts of the roof extend down to ensure privacy. Insider’s Tip: Special highlights include sundowners on the Queen Silvia barge and time out at the unique underground hide!
