Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in May

Wilderness Linyanti Tented Camp Botswana Hero

Winter has settled over Wilderness Linyanti Tented Camp, bringing cool, crisp mornings and pleasant sunny days. Daytime temperatures continue to average between 26° C and 27° C, while clears skies and low humidity created ideal conditions for outdoor activities and game viewing.

Wildlife sightings

Wildlife around Linyanti Tented Camp was good in May, and recent sightings included…

  • lions were seen around the airstrip area, as well as two male lions along Main Road, and one morning we found the spoor of another lion that had been patrolling around camp the night before;
  • leopards were frequently observed in the traversing area;
  • hyenas, including a mother with cubs, provided wonderful viewing opportunities;
  • a water monitor lizard was spotted every day around camp, outside the water.

Birdlife in the Linyanti

Avian numbers in our area are still prolific, especially of African fish eagles and the herons. Guests also enjoyed watching a variety of resident bird species around camp, adding to the rich and diverse wildlife experience. Among these residents are the garrulous arrow-marked babblers.
