Every morning at first light, our safari vehicles set off into the grassland, where fresh tracks hint at stories from the night before, and around every corner new discoveries await.

No two game drives are ever the same. Some mornings bring thrilling predator encounters that leave our guests’ hearts racing, while others reward patience with the gentle moments of a giraffe silhouetted against the sunrise, a herd of impala drifting through the golden grass, and songbirds providing the morning soundtrack.

At Magashi, the magic lies in the anticipation of each new day’s sightings, as much as knowing what comes next.

As the afternoon light softens, the shores of Lake Rwanyakizinga become the setting for some of our guest’s most memorable moments.

The water reflects the changing colours of the sky, and the gentle breeze carries the sounds of the bush across the lake, leaving visitors to soak up the calm before nature stirs once again.

Elephant families emerge from the trees to drink and bathe, hippos surface unexpectedly, and the unmistakable call of fish eagles echo across the water. It’s a daily reminder that even the quietest moments at Magashi can be the most unforgettable.

If July had a star, it was the magnificent Amahoro Pride.

Their growing presence brings excitement to every game drive. Moving like golden shadows through the grassland, this month the pride delivered extraordinary sightings and unforgettable memories. Their powerful roars echoed across the concession, reminding us that this is a place where the wild unquestionably reigns.

Along the lake, the elephant herd created equally captivating scenes, and guests appreciated seeing, and enthusiastically photographing, the watchful matriarch guiding her family to the water and the playful calves splashing in the shallows. 

Beyond these iconic encounters, the concession was alive with countless smaller treasures. Brilliant kingfishers flashed across the waterways like sapphires, antelope moved gracefully through the plains, and each dawn began with a chorus of birds welcoming another day.
