All-inclusive luxury safaris in Africa

Why choose an all-inclusive African safari?

At Wilderness, a true luxury all-inclusive African safari means everything is taken care of from the moment you touch down at the airport to the moment you leave us. Our team of experienced Travel Designers creates bespoke safari itineraries for each and every guest that includes everything you could possibly want for your trip of a lifetime.

As a general guide, most of our African safari packages and itineraries include airport and inter-camp transfers and accommodation. Once you arrive at a Wilderness camp, all meals and snacks, standard beverages, laundry, fully-guided game drives and nature walks, park concessions and much more are included in the total price of your trip.*

For Wilderness, all-inclusive also means so much more than your typical all-inclusive resort. Wilderness safari camps include private guides, and our nightly rate also funds the conservation work that keeps these landscapes intact. Every game drive, every bush walk, every sundowner connects you directly to the wild, and to the long-term protection of it.

All you need to do is send us a few details, and one of our experienced Travel Designers will get in touch and build a tailor-made journey that includes everything you need for a life-changing trip to Africa.

What's included, and what's not?

Every Wilderness camp is fully inclusive: accommodation, all meals, house beverages, game activities, and expert guiding are all covered in your nightly rate.

Please note: Some non-Wilderness accommodation may not include meals or beverages, but let your Travel Designer know your preferences and they'll tailor your itinerary accordingly.

Are drinks and activities included?

House drinks are included across all Wilderness camps: soft drinks, water, local beers, house wines, and non-premium spirits. The exceptions are premium imported spirits and champagne, which are settled directly in camp.

Twice-daily game activities are included as standard — game drives, guided bush walks, and any scheduled camp activities specific to the ecosystem. Some optional experiences, such as hot-air ballooning or helicopter flights, are operated independently and priced separately. Your Travel Designer will flag these at the itinerary stage so there are no surprises on arrival.

All-inclusive luxury on safari

Luxury in the wilderness looks different to luxury anywhere else, and that's the point. Forget the checklist of hotel-style amenities; what Wilderness camps offer is something far more rare. It's the freedom to disconnect completely, the privilege of private access to extraordinary landscapes, and the kind of personalised attention that means your guide already knows how you take your coffee before you've asked.

The camps themselves are beautifully appointed, think plunge pools overlooking floodplains, open-air showers under a canopy of stars, and dinners served under the African sky. But these are the backdrop, not the headline. The real measure of luxury here is waking up to a world that feels entirely untouched, knowing that everything around you, every game drive, every meal, every quiet moment, has been crafted around you.

How much do all-inclusive safaris cost?

Wilderness fully inclusive camps start from USD 604 per person per night in low season, with peak pricing at top-tier properties ranging from USD 2,500 to USD 3,400 per person per night. Most multi-camp itineraries average between USD 1,000 and USD 2,500 PPNS across the stay.

The nightly rate covers accommodation, all meals, house beverages, game activities, and guiding. Flights and transfers are additional. Most guests travel across a 7–10 night itinerary — the length at which the landscape, the rhythm, and the wildlife start to reveal themselves properly.

A Travel Designer will build an itinerary matched to your dates, party size, and budget.

Other costs to consider

Whether you choose to indulge in the ultimate luxury all-inclusive experience or opt for a more value-conscious approach, Wilderness delivers an unforgettable safari experience.

Be sure to add a buffer into your budget for those unexpected costs, and keep the following in mind:

International and domestic flights

As standard, none of our tours include prices for international flights to or from any African destination. As we build bespoke itineraries for every guest, the cost of flights, either domestically or internationally, depends on the destinations and types of safari you visit, so your experienced Travel Designer explain everything you need to know and any costs involved.

Photography equipment

If you’re keen on taking the right gear to capture the wildlife on safari, you may need to budget for equipment rental if you don’t have your own, as well as additional accessories:

  • Rental gear: USD50 – 150 per day
  • Extra memory cards/hard drives: USD50 – 200

Connectivity needs

Remember to account for:

  • International roaming: Check with your provider (often USD5 - 10 per day)
  • Local SIM cards: USD10 - 30 for data packages

Most of the Wilderness camps have WiFi either in the common areas, the guest suites, or both, but remember to factor in those data costs for before and after your safari with us.

Pre/post safari activities and stays

If you’re adding a non-safari leg before or after your trip, remember to budget for that, as well. Wilderness Touring Cape Town can organise a tailored itinerary for you, covering everything from accommodation and dining, to transfers and more.

Consider budgeting for:

  • Johannesburg/Cape Town extension: From USD200 per night plus activities

Travel insurance and visa fees

Depending on the cover you require, we recommend budgeting USD150 – 500 for your travel insurance.

Visa fees will differ depending on your home country, so be sure to plan in advance and budget accordingly.

Our all-inclusive safari camps

*Meals and drinks are only included in your itinerary at Wilderness-operated camps and lodges, excluding Sabyinyo. Some itineraries may include camps, hotels and other luxury accommodation with our partners and may not include food, drinks, activities or concessions in the base price per night, so always mention you'd like these included to your Travel Designer and they'll help you plan your unforgettable, all-inclusive safari.
