Safaris can be enjoyed by children of all ages, though most of our camps welcome kids from six upwards. Certain activities, like walking safaris or gorilla treks, are only available to children aged 12, or even 15 and up.

There is so much to do on safari. Alongside your usual game drives, children can enjoy gentle nature walks, wildlife spotting from hides, cultural activities, interactive learning with our Bush Buddies, and age-appropriate adventures like e-biking, boating, or hot air balloon rides.

A number of our camps offer various activities for families. For instance, at Wilderness Vumbura Plains, we have mokoro excursions, boating, village visits, walks and game drives, while Wilderness Kulala Desert Lodge offers access to Sossusvlei, nature walks and drives, hot air ballooning and fat-tyre e-biking. Whether it’s the desert that calls you or the wonder of the wetlands, you’re guaranteed an adventure to remember.

Yes, many camps feature family units, often with interconnecting rooms and private spaces, even private plunge pools, ensuring comfort, safety, and flexibility.

Some safari regions do have a malaria risk. Your doctor will be able to provide advice on prevention before your trip.
