Drawing inspiration from the ethereal beauty of Botswana’s natural landscapes, the new design echoes the harmony of the camp’s wilderness surrounds. The warm, golden hues found in the undulating sands of the Kalahari have inspired the earthy tones used in the interiors, and rich, textural layering creates an inviting sense of calm as you enter the open-plan lounge and dining areas. Soft sand-coloured furniture and luxurious fabrics were chosen to ensure an elegant and comfortable dining experience.
Organic elements and luxurious fabrics, from Kelim scatter cushions to African artefacts and statement lighting, all knit together in the lounge area, further enhancing the wow factor of this communal guest space.
Lounge and bar in the main area
“The subtle greys and muted tans of the various pieces of lounge furniture are punctuated by the colours of the scatters, with their transformative palette of mopane leaves in autumn, ranging from vibrant greens to fiery oranges and reds. This breathes life into the interiors, infusing them with energy and the spirit of change. A personal favourite is our commissioned chandeliers, made of cream hide strips, which move gently in the breeze, filtering a soft evening glow", added Helene.

New furnishings and loungers at the pool
Chitabe Lediba is linked by an elevated boardwalk to its sister camp, Chitabe. Aptly named, it overlooks a small lediba – a lagoon within a Delta channel; this central attraction of the camp is famed for the wildlife it draws and the sightings it offers. An outdoor firepit, raised off the ground and overlooking the floodplains, is the perfect spot for fireside chatter, stargazing and an evening tipple.
Ideal for families and small groups traveling together, this is armchair travel at its finest, where you often don’t even have to leave camp or your private decks for unbelievable wildlife sightings.
