This year Botswana private guide Lets Kamogelo presented his Wilderness journey under the banner The Road Lets Travelled on Saturday 23 September.
Getting to know how the camera works is like learning the alphabet again, not that the knowledge is elementary, but because it is fun.
It’s the age of digital democracy – the digital age plays a critical role in this competitive revolution. Personal websites and social media such as Facebook and Twitter allow our trophies to be proudly posted for the entire world to admire.
With photography I feel I was directed, protected and corrected, both in personal and inter-personal skills, and, in fact, not only as a photographer but also in my guiding career. I had dreams and goals, because dreams without goals are just dreams and ultimately fuel disappointment. For me to achieve these goals, I applied discipline and consistency.
So, get a goal every day and do what you feel passionate about, have a reason to wake up in the morning and live your life with purpose. Sometimes the greatest human error is confusing movement with progress… you can run all over the place, everywhere, but you will never get anywhere. Have a drive and desire to complete that movement to reach your destiny.
We don’t plan to fail; rather, we fail to plan.
And just because you are doing a lot more doesn’t mean you are getting a lot more done.
On The Road Lets Travelled, I used losses to train my patience, used my mistakes to sculpt serenity, used my obstacles to open windows of intelligence – and never gave up on the people that gave me courage in being great, because GREATNESS is whatever you have dreamed in your life. Create this vision in your mind and figure out how you are going to get there. We all have greatness; you just have to find the courage.
