Marsel Van Oosten
Dutch-born Marsel van Oosten’s career began in advertising, but after a trip to Tanzania, he developed a passion for wildlife photography and five years later became a full-time photographer. Marsel’s images have been honoured with many prestigious awards, including winning the overall titles Wildlife Photographer of the Year (Natural History Museum), Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY), and International Nature Photographer of the Year (2x in the International Photography Awards). Furthermore, his awards cabinet includes First Prizes in the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year (Natural History Museum), Nature’s Best International Photography Awards, and two First Prizes in the Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY).
Neil Aldridge
Neil is a conservationist, award-winning photographer and lecturer in Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University. His photography has won awards all over the world, including winning the World Press environment category, the overall title of European Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the NPPA's Best of Photojournalism award for environmental storytelling. His work has twice featured amongst the winners of the coveted Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest and he has twice been a winner of British Wildlife Photography Awards. As well as his success in competitions, Neil has also served as the chair of the World Press Environment and Nature jury, as a judge in the British Wildlife Photography Awards and, along with Sophie Stafford, he established the Photo Story Panda Award for the wildlife media charity Wildscreen.
Sophie Stafford
A passionate conservationist and charity communication consultant, Sophie has judged nearly every leading nature photography competition in the world! As Editor of BBC Wildlife magazine, she judged and co-managed the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition in partnership with the Natural History Museum of London for nearly 10 years. She has travelled the world to join the juries of natural history photo contests, from the European Wildlife Photographer of the Year to Russia’s Golden Turtles, and was a consultant to and judge of Mexico's Por el Planeta competition, which had a USD110 000 top prize.
Sophie is an Affiliate of the International League of Conservation Photographers, and reviews and judges photography every day for the myriad natural history magazines she edits for her clients, including biographic.com. So she knows a thing or two about how to make your photos stand out in the crowd!
