The menu at King’s Pool makes heroes of local ingredients sourced from farmers who share space with Botswana’s wildlife. Take your lunch in the hide overlooking the water, where any number of different animals may join you as they take an afternoon drink, or enjoy high tea and sundowners on the Queen Silvia barge on the lagoon.

Wilderness King’s Pool

King’s Pool’s eight thatch and canvas suites have a spacious lounge and bedroom, artfully decorated with touches of copper and teal. Set on expansive raised decks near the water's edge, the common areas provide the perfect spots to settle in and watch the wildlife. The camp is completely powered by solar, courtesy of the warm Botswana sun, but there is respite to be found in the swimming pool.

Wilderness Kings Pool Botswana Purpose

Guardians of giants

King’s Pool is situated near a critical wildlife corridor in Botswana’s 126 000-ha Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. These wildlife corridors run across Angola, Namibia, Zambia and Botswana and are essential to the success of elephant populations across Africa. You’ll meet them up close, moving safely through our private, protected wilderness area.

King's Pool experiences

Admire large herds of elephants and buffalo on game drives through the Linyanti, or from the comfort of the Queen Silvia barge. Spy crocodiles sliding silently into the river while water birds pick along the banks. Spend quiet moments in the hide, letting the wildlife come to you, then end your evening under the inky African sky, as the stars put on their nightly show.

King’s Pool is perfectly positioned to watch an array of iconic wildlife come and go as they quench their thirst along the Linyanti River. Under a cluster of jackalberry trees, the camp overlooks the lagoon for which King’s Pool is named, when Swedish King Carl Gustav XVI spent his honeymoon here in the romantic Linyanti.
